Missing Uganda

BUGOLOBI SCHOOL ONE YEAR AGO

I just got an email from my Ugandan friend John Paul. He is spending next week at Bugolobi school with the Music For Life Team doing Bible School Camps with the students. The last 2 years at this time I was in Uganda participating in these camps. He was asking me if I had any messages to pass on to the kids or Teacher Helen. It really made me think. What could I say to these people that have made such a huge amazing impact on my life???? My heart longs to be with them. Encouraging them. Loving on them. Hearing the children laugh and sing. Worship and praising our Lord together. But God has brought me somewhere else today.

Today I sit in a big, beautiful, old church sanctuary in Ontario. The stain glass windows are intricately made and the late afternoon light makes the appear to be glowing. The wooden pews are carved and polished. Terese is playing her heart out on the piano creating a peaceful, worshipful, atmosphere. The 26 little africans who I love to pieces are sleeping in a nearby room. Later this evening they will fill this sanctuary with joyful singing to the Lord. The audience will clap and smile. They may even shed a few tears. After the concert someone may ask me about ways they can make a difference in these kids lives. I will speak with the lucky families that will get to share a few days hosting our kids and adults. Then 2 girls and I will get in a car with someone we just met and drive off to their home. They will ask us many questions about ACC and our lives. The girls will shower and have a snack. I will hug and pray with the girls before they lay their heads down to sleep. It will be another day finished.

I wonder where I will be next year at this time?

If you know what's good for you, a year from now, you'll be on the road somewhere with choir 33.

Glad you're still enjoying it... One of my best friends just landed in Uganda to be a part of the team.

Hopefully home with us ;), but definitely wherever God wants you! What a beautiful picture you painted describing your day. Sounds like you were feeling very thoughtful.

Hugs and kisses from all of us!
