We had a 2 night stay in Amhearst, Nova Scotia. The host families had us all stay at their cottages on the beach. The children had a great time exploring the ocean at low tide.

PEGGY'S COVE, NOVA SCOTIA
PEGGY'S COVE, NOVA SCOTIA
Before leaving Nova Scotia we stopped at the famous Peggy's Cove. It was a beautiful day with blue skies and big white clouds. The kids loved jumping from rock to rock and exploring this amazing place.

A day off in Halifax, Nova Scotia
A DAY OFF IN HALIFAX, NOVIA SCOTIA
Terese and I had a day off in Halifax. We decided to become pirates for an 1 1/2 hour sail! It was a beautiful but windy day and we put on the pirate coats to keep warm and also to take some fun pictures! The crew was dressed as pirates and they let us help raise the sails, shoot off the canons, and even swing on the ropes!

Margaree Valley
One of my favorite places we have traveled to is Margaree Valley. It is a teeny tiny town in Cape Breton. Cape Breton is an island in northern Nova Scotia. We had a 4 night stay in this little village and it was kinda like stepping back in time. My host family and I took our girls swimming in the river and blueberry picking.

PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND
PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND
In my lifetime the only place I ever dreamed of going in Canada was Prince Edward Island. Can you believe I have been across 8 provinces to get there?!?!?! That is roughly 5,000 miles of travel! I have enjoyed the scenery of many beautiful places in Canada but I must say that my 1 day trip to PEI was a huge highlight of our journey coast to coast in Canada! I grew up reading the famous "Anne of Green Gables" books and was delighted to visit the places that inspired the fictional stories by Lucy Maud Montgomery. It was a truly a day to never forget!
This is at the New Brunswick shore. In the background is the bridge we took to Prince Edward Island. The bridge has been there for about 10yrs and is 8 miles long.

A trip to Freeport, ME
During our stay in Auburn, Maine we worked with a wonderful lady from the church named Sarah. She was gracious enough to take Terese, Barb, Amanda and I to Freeport, Maine for an evening. We had a wonderful seafood dinner at a great little place on the dock and did a little shopping at the L.L. Bean Flagship store.

Terese and Barb
This was my first experience eating a "Whoppie Pie"! It was a cake-like cookie with lots of frosting inside!
Amanda and her first lobster. We watched them pick out the lobster, weigh it, and cook it! Sarah gave Amanda great instructions on exactly how to eat it.
My Maine Shrimp. I was a little disappointed to find out that Maine Shrimp are so tiny but they were still good!
